Job Description

This onsite role involves leading revenue generation and directing the hotel sales effort in coordination with the General Manager to implement the marketing plan. The position administers sales policies and programs to foster hotel patronage and help meet budgeted targets.

Responsibilities

Establishes and nurtures accounts, cultivating relationships across the marketplace.
Identifies and analyzes competition at local and regional levels to inform strategy.
Designs new programs and campaigns to unlock additional sales from diverse market segments.
Secures bid opportunities through direct contact, email, and telephone outreach.
Solicits feedback to identify future business needs.
Ensures prompt and systematic servicing of all business accounts.
Develops and maintains the marketing plan and sales budget.
Maintains sales systems, including sales records and reports, conference calendar, history and potential traces, group logs, and mailing lists.
Provides sales training to hotel staff as appropriate.
Maintains high visibility in the local business and hospitality communities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Degree in Business or equivalent education and/or experience.
Minimum of three years of sales experience required; hospitality sales preferred.
Excellent leadership and revenue management capabilities; innovative and self-motivated.
Ability to work independently and maintain a drive to succeed.
Outstanding communication and organizational skills; professional demeanor.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and access to a vehicle that is insured and well maintained.
Some travel may be required.

Job Description

A regional business development role with ALS Geochemistry in Reno, Nevada, onsite, focused on expanding market share through lead generation, client engagement, and relationship management.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Market Intelligence Analyst and local client services staff to identify and capitalize on market opportunities
Represent ALS Geochemistry at regional trade shows, conferences, and Geological Society meetings
Complete annual quotation renewals, new work bids, and track client workflow with client services staff
Meet with prospective clients and visit client sites to understand their needs and propose solutions
Build and maintain long term relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle
Identify cross selling and upselling opportunities across ALS service lines to maximize client value and revenue

Requirements

Post secondary education in the sciences, geology and/or chemistry preferred
Some background in science or direct laboratory experience is important to the role
Experience with analytical methods and quality control in geochemistry is a plus but not required
1–2 years of experience in client service, project management, or business development is required
Experience in geoscience is preferred
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Maintains renewal timelines in the PROPER system and CSSE management.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
At least two years of direct sales experience with a verifiable record of increased responsibilities.
Experience in sales within a personnel service organization is preferred.
One year of supervisory or management experience with a sales or service-oriented team.
Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and manage multiple priorities.
Capability to set priorities, plan the day, cold call, and deliver formal presentations.
Working knowledge of labor and employment laws.
