Business Development Director
Job Description
Atlas Healthcare Partners is expanding its footprint across Pennsylvania with a field-based Business Development Director role focused on building physician and partnership networks that drive ambulatory growth. In this position, you will recruit new physician partners for existing ASCs, originate opportunities tied to ASC acquisitions and De Novo projects, and execute against market-specific revenue targets.
Working closely with in-market operations leaders, internal support partners, and a Joint Venture partner, you will help create aligned relationships that support organic revenue growth and market share gains across your assigned geography.
What you’ll do
- Partner with internal operations and clinical teams, corporate development, physicians and staff, payer representatives, and health system employees to communicate the Atlas vision and demonstrate value.
- Develop and independently execute an in-market growth strategy that identifies, segments, sources, attracts, and converts new leads into increased case volumes.
- Review the existing customer base and create physician alignment and referral networking plans to expand operational Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) lead flow with Ambulatory Surgery Center Chief Executive Officers and physician owners.
- Build a physician recruiting strategy in collaboration with Ambulatory Surgery Center leaders, physician owners, Vice President of Operations, and corporate development directors based on facility needs and service lines.
- Lead daily sales activities, including lead generation, prospecting, objection handling, closing, and customer success.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, calls, and progress in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application.
- Create and self-manage a detailed dashboard tracking a growth pipeline against revenue goals.
- Support B2B physician marketing to increase network alignment between partners and the ASCs, acting as a liaison between Health System Medical Group and Health System Payor Network and aligned ASC specialists.
- Network with medical device, imaging, diagnostic, and other healthcare sales representatives to uncover new leads and growth opportunities.
- Identify market opportunities for acquisitions and future developments, and analyze physician practices to build economic models for profitability decision-making.
- Provide feedback and customized improvement plans tied to physician needs to support continuous process improvement at both the ASC and corporate levels.
- Contribute additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Health and Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in a direct sales role, preferably in healthcare.
- Service Lines/Specialties knowledge with relationships that are typically developed over 5+ years in a similar role.
- Experience with Microsoft suite applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred qualifications
- MBA or master’s degree in Business, Communications, Health and Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of surgical (OR) sales experience.
- 6+ years leading a health-related sales territory or market with direct quota accountability.

Reporting and scope
- Reports to Vice President – Business Development.
- Field-based role with comfort working remotely and independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to make multiple sales calls daily, develop a plan or roadmap, and execute to achieve revenue growth goals.
- Capability to interpret claims data analytics and understand financial models.
- Responsible for business development recruitment support for eligible ASCs targeting high complexity service lines, including Total Joints, Cardiovascular, Neuro Spine, Ortho Spine, Interventional Spine, and others based on market needs and geographic coverage.
- May cover large geographies across multiple joint ventures and states based on business requirements.
Location and compensation
- Location: Pennsylvania (onsite)
- Compensation: USD 110,000 - 260,000 per year (base/commissions range)
