Job Description
The Business Development Manager will drive new business opportunities in the Industrial and Heavy-Duty markets. This role is primarily remote, with travel to customer sites and industry events to broaden the reach in power generation, trucking, machinery, and marine segments.
Location
Hybrid role based in Tampa, Florida.
Responsibilities
- Develop and exceed sales targets through proactive prospecting, in-person meetings, and scheduled appointments with new and existing customers.
- Identify and assess opportunities for new product development and introduce these offerings to current and emerging markets.
- Manage a travel schedule that comprises approximately 40 to 60 percent of activities within the assigned market sector.
- Represent the company at conferences and industry events, actively pursuing qualified leads and relationships.
- Expand the customer and market base by networking, building durable relationships, and rapidly increasing presence in target accounts.
- Enhance the customer experience by uncovering needs and confidently presenting applicable Hotstart solutions.
- Own projects tied to OEM spec system releases, driving execution and measurable results.
- Monitor competitor activity, analyzing trends and responding with informed strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales Directors, Customer Account Managers, Product Management, and Senior Sales Support to shape pricing and deliver competitive offers.
- Maintain visibility and accountability by coordinating activities through the Team Calendar and cross-functional alignment.
- Coordinate with Marketing to maximize impact and ROI at key industry trade shows.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sales and account management with strong negotiation skills.
- Experience with thermal management products, systems, or related industries is advantageous.
- Existing network within Engine, Power Generation, Machinery, and Marine OEMs is highly desirable.
- Strong team player attitude with enthusiasm and collaboration mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with INFOR, IFS, and MRP systems is preferable.
- Minimum of 3+ years of customer account management or related sales experience.
