Business Development Professional

Defiance Integrated Technologies (DIT) is hiring a Business Development Professional to expand industrial sales opportunities and strengthen existing customer relationships in Fort Wayne, IN (onsite). If you want a role that blends technical sales, customer engagement, and business growth, this position offers a competitive base salary ($85,000 to $95,000 per year) plus success-based incentives.

What you’ll focus on

• Drive business development activities with current customers to generate additional sales.
• Identify and pursue industrial sales opportunities with new customers to create new revenue.
• Respond to customer requests for quotes and coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop proposals aimed at winning business.
• Maintain frequent contact with current customers while prospecting and reaching out to new accounts.
• Network with industry contacts and gather intelligence on competitors, emerging proposals, and broader trends that could impact DIT.

Key requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in sales, marketing, or technical work, with industrial background.
• Technical sales and/or engineering background required.
• Excellent organization, leadership, and presentation skills.
• High moral character that reflects well on yourself and the Company.
• Strong drive as a self-starter with resourcefulness and comfort working within a small, growing team.
• Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and business development objectives in an industrial environment.
• Comfort working within a fixed and variable compensation structure that rewards performance.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• Willingness to travel 40-60% of the time to customers and prospect locations.

Compensation and benefits

Pay range: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year. Compensation includes a competitive salary commensurate with experience and variable pay based on new business awards.
