Business Development - Sales Territory Representative

SMS is hiring an Outside Sales Territory Representative to help drive local growth in the Kansas City area. In this role, you will meet with owners of small to medium businesses to market and secure Business Analysts Survey Agreements through a day-to-day schedule of pre-set appointments.

This position is located in Kansas City, KS (onsite) and offers a commission-only structure with residual income plus daily cash bonuses. The company notes that $100,000 to $110,000 in realistic first-year earnings is achievable, with additional upside for high-earning commission performance.

Role focus

• Direct local sales appointments with owners of small to medium sized businesses
• Market and secure Business Analysts Survey Agreements
• Work a currently available Kansas City territory using pre-set appointments

Responsibilities

• Prepare for appointments received from an assistant the day prior, with travel kept local
• Direct 3-4 sales appointments daily with the goal of securing Business Analysts a Survey Agreement
• Contact the Business Coordinator with appointment feedback and share new business lead opportunities
• Review daily successes and challenges with your Sales Manager to receive sales support, with administrative support designed to contribute to your success

Requirements

• At least 3 years of business ownership experience and/or 3 years of face-to-face direct sales experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required if experience is a strong fit
• Highly self-motivated and self-disciplined, able to work with little or no supervision
• Outgoing approach with skills in relationship-building, especially with business owners, presidents, and CEOs
• Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to uncover the real “pain” a client is experiencing
• Ability to begin work immediately
• High school or equivalent education requirement
