Director Business Development
Job Description
The Director Business Development at Oasis Behavioral Health leads growth of service lines by developing and retaining physician and other referral sources, coordinating referral priorities with organizational strategy, and supporting revenue and profit goals. The position is based in Chandler, AZ onsite and includes marketing planning, market and utilization analysis, referral execution, reporting, and team leadership.
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians, management, and education staff to generate referral sources.
- Coordinate with facility and division sales leadership to support the organization’s mission and revenue targets by presenting service line attributes, processes, and outcomes to consumer, physician, and market facility groups and individuals.
- Work with hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians, management, inpatient unit teams, and education staff to develop referral sources.
- Evaluate, analyze, and interpret market utilization data for facility service lines in collaboration with facility and division leaders.
- Build strong working relationships with admissions and intake teams.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan designed to increase facility revenues and profits.
- Identify referral priorities and ensure they align with the organization’s vision and strategic goals.
- Document activity promptly in the company Customer Relationship Manager (Salesforce).
- Assess and interpret market demographics, including population, age, gender, race, and projected trends for patient populations.
- Collaborate with division and/or market physician services, facility leaders, and medical staff leadership to create sales and retention strategies for facility services.
- Execute referral and retention strategies, adjusting plans as needed to maintain quality outcomes and improve performance for referral sources and the facility.
- Close new referral sources and conduct face-to-face meetings to ensure a clear understanding of available services, with follow-up meetings as required.
- Provide ongoing reporting that highlights trends, new referral opportunities, and barriers impacting retention and growth.
- Manage staff responsibilities including hiring, development, training, performance management, and internal communication to support effective and efficient department operations.
- Perform other assigned functions and tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Five (5) or more years of related experience in a healthcare business development role required.
- One (1) or more years of supervisor experience required.
- Valid driver’s license required, with ongoing automobile insurance coverage and access to an automobile where the facility requires.
- Experience as outlined in the role may be accepted in lieu of degree as approved by the VP of Business Development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
