Job Description

In the Chicago area, CHI Group Logistics Inc is establishing a startup 3PL and freight brokerage focused on growing a robust sales pipeline. The Director of Business Development will drive the expansion of customer freight opportunities, explore new markets and partnerships, and deliver regular progress updates to senior management. The operation is supported by an asset fleet of 100 trucks in the Chicago region, reflecting a tangible scale as the company builds its BD capability.

Responsibilities

  • Drive growth by expanding the base of customer freight opportunities and strengthening the startup's business development efforts.
  • Identify fresh market opportunities and establish relationships with potential clients and partners.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports on business development activities to senior management.

Requirements

  • Existing portfolio of clients and ongoing opportunities (book of business).
