Service Electric Supply presents an entry-level Sales Development Trainee program designed to cultivate a well-rounded sales professional for Inside or Outside Sales in the electrical distribution industry. Based onsite in Romulus, Michigan, this structured, hands-on role blends training across warehouse, counter, and rotating departments with a focus on product knowledge, customer interaction, and value-based selling. Responsibilities
- Learn product lines, inventory systems, and warehouse layout
- Pull, pack, and verify customer orders with accuracy
- Operate material-handling equipment as required
- Understand product applications and contractor usage
- Build foundational knowledge of electrical distribution products
- Assist walk-in customers with product selection and order fulfillment
- Develop strong questioning skills to uncover customer needs
- Familiarize yourself with contractor types, job requirements, and purchasing behaviors
- Process orders and check inventory using internal systems
- Deliver high-quality service through responsiveness and accuracy
- Work at the Inside Sales Desk and handle order processing
- Communicate with customers and provide pricing and availability support
- Prepare lighting and project quotations; learn job takeoffs and specifications
- Assist with quotes and bid packages; handle power and gear quotations
- Understand technical specifications and product applications
- Support project pricing and solution development
- Assist with order tracking, timelines, and issue resolution
- Learn internal workflows that support large projects
- Explore additional exposure to accounting and operational workflows for broader business understanding
- Participate in structured product training and educational programs
- Receive mentorship from experienced sales and operations leaders
- Develop technical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Learn to communicate Service Electric’s value proposition to customers
- Apply a value-based selling approach focused on reliability, risk reduction, and efficiency

Program Overview

Pay and Location
Pay range: $35,000 to $60,000 per year.
Work location: Onsite in Romulus, Michigan. This is an in-person role.
