Job Description

Talnt is seeking a Sales Manager in Worcester, MA (hybrid) to lead strategic sales initiatives for an industrial manufacturing organization, with a salary range of USD 150,000 to 180,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve annual revenue, profitability, and market share targets.
  • Identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities within industrial manufacturing, OEM, and distribution markets.
  • Expand existing customer relationships while developing new strategic accounts across targeted industries.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, quoting, negotiations, contract management, and account growth.
  • Lead and manage a network of independent sales representatives, providing guidance, performance management, and sales support.
  • Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, facility tours, and business reviews to strengthen relationships.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to identify new product opportunities and develop solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Partner with Operations to align production capacity with customer demand and delivery expectations.
  • Work closely with Quality to resolve customer concerns, support corrective actions, and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare pricing proposals, quotations, and commercial agreements while supporting profitability objectives.
  • Develop annual sales forecasts, budgets, and pipeline reports to support strategic planning.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, customer meetings, networking events, and industry associations.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, forecasting, and opportunity tracking within CRM and ERP systems.
  • Support new product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and long-term growth strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial manufacturing sales experience.
  • Proven success selling industrial components, bearings, machined components, metal stampings, precision components, assemblies, or related engineered products.
  • Track record of generating new business, increasing revenue, and growing strategic customer accounts.
  • Experience selling to OEMs, industrial manufacturers, distributors, and engineered product markets.
  • Experience managing independent manufacturers' representatives or external sales organizations.
  • Strong business development, negotiation, presentation, and account-management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic-planning abilities.
  • Experience using CRM and ERP systems for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with executive-level decision makers.

  • Meet or exceed annual sales growth targets.

  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently generate qualified opportunities.
  • Conduct 4 to 6 customer or prospect visits per month.
  • Improve gross margins through strategic pricing and account management.
  • Deliver accurate monthly sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Strengthen customer retention while expanding market share.
  • Support long-term growth through strategic customer development and market expansion.

Desired qualifications

  • Experience in precision manufacturing, metal fabrication, bearings, machining, stampings, or industrial component manufacturing.
  • Established relationships with OEMs, distributors, and industrial manufacturers across North America.
  • Experience developing strategic pricing initiatives and improving gross margins.
  • Background supporting custom manufacturing, engineered products, or contract manufacturing environments.
  • Experience identifying and expanding into new industrial markets.
  • Leadership experience mentoring sales professionals or managing regional sales teams.
