Job Description

Lockheed Martin's Sikorsky Marine Corps Systems segment is seeking a Senior Manager Strategy & Business Development to turn long-range plans into actionable opportunities, lead capture efforts, and coordinate across the business development function. This on-site role in Arlington, VA reports to the MCS Market Segment Director and focuses on strategy execution, government and customer relations, and market development with travel requirements up to 60%.

Summary

This role oversees translating the market segment strategy into concrete BD plans for both domestic and international MCS opportunities, guides end-to-end capture activities, and maintains senior-level relationships with U.S. Marine Corps and Army decision makers. It also supports international engagements by coordinating with foreign stakeholders and U.S. Government partners, with travel as a regular component of duties.

Responsibilities

  • Convert the Director's long-range plan and segment strategy into actionable business development programs for domestic and international MCS opportunities.
  • Lead all US Government related MCS captures from opportunity identification through award (Gate 0 to Gate 5).
  • Develop capture strategies, pricing approaches, and financial models; present findings to senior leadership and customers.
  • Build and sustain senior-level relationships with U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army decision makers; support the international team by coordinating with foreign stakeholders and DoD/State partners, including planning and executing MCAA and MCA events and engaging with USMC leadership across the stakeholder chain.
  • Maintain an up-to-date stakeholder engagement plan to support outcome-based executive calls that advance the MCS strategy.
  • Drive lead generation, pipeline development, and funnel conversion for Sikorsky/RMS platforms.
  • Conduct market research, analyze budget processes, and assess capability gaps for target customers.
  • Ensure full compliance with FMS, DCS, and Lockheed Martin export control regulations.
  • Keep CRM and reporting tools current and accurate.
  • Travel up to 60% to customer sites, trade shows, and partner facilities, primarily domestically with occasional international trips.

Requirements

  • Retired USMC officer with recent HQMC/Aviation/NAVAIR experience and knowledge of USMC AVPLAN and MAGTF operations.
  • Superior communication skills with a proven ability to build and sustain relationships with senior internal and external customers.
  • Deep understanding of the Sikorsky portfolio and the ability to identify opportunities where solutions meet or exceed customer requirements; solid grasp of DoD budgeting and acquisition processes, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
  • Decisive decision maker with strong ownership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Proven experience leading diverse, multi-level, cross-functional teams.
  • High flexibility with the ability to travel worldwide without restriction.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with minimal supervision.

This realignment positions the Marine Corps Systems segment for accelerated growth in both domestic and international markets, with the Senior Manager supporting the segment director in executing strategy and driving captures.

4x10 hour days, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate

Annual base salary range: USD 151,200 - 266,570.
