Job Description

Applied Materials is seeking a Strategic Marketing / Business Development V to join its Santa Clara campus on site. This senior role combines market evaluation with portfolio-level product strategy, shaping a market-driven direction in partnership with management and multiple marketing functions to help the organization reach its goals. The position demands a blend of technical insight and business acumen to steer market strategy and portfolio development in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess existing and potential markets with a broad scope to inform strategic direction.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of both technical and business environments.
  • Contribute to the development and articulation of strategies that meet business objectives.
  • Integrate abstract products into a market-focused portfolio of offerings.
  • Manage the portfolio as a product, including business planning, positioning, buying process, market requirements, and the marketing plan.
  • Analyze market data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Translate market information into strategic direction and prepare compelling market analysis presentations.
  • Drive needs within targeted markets and analyze market segmentations to prioritize opportunities.
  • Recommend which market segments to actively pursue.
  • Drive the growth process across the portfolio and market opportunities.
  • Partner with the management team and other marketing functions (product marketing, product management, MarCom) to ensure marketing efforts meet the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Oversee the creation of abstract product strategies that integrate with Applied Materials products.
  • Support the vision and key deliverables for abstract products.
  • Own and manage the portfolio of products.

  • Regarded as the technical expert in the relevant field.
  • Demonstrates in-depth and broad expertise within the discipline and across related areas in the function.
  • Anticipates business and regulatory issues and recommends improvements to products, processes, or services.
  • Leads projects with notable risk and complexity and develops the strategy for project execution.
  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad business impact, employing conceptual and innovative thinking.
  • Influences direction and resource allocation for programs, projects, or services while working within general policies and industry guidelines.
  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates objections, and persuades stakeholders, often at senior levels, to consider new perspectives.

  • Salary: $154,000 - $212,000 per year
  • Location: Santa Clara, CA (onsite)
