Business Development Associate - Bilingual in Chinese
Job Description
The Business Development Associate is a fully onsite, 5 days a week position in the sales department and acts as the first point of contact for clients. In this role, you will identify opportunities, initiate outreach, and support the growth of the sales pipeline while working toward required sales targets.
Role Overview
As the primary connection to prospective clients, you will represent the company by introducing the business solutions offered to businesses. The position focuses on lead development, cold calling, discovery of relevant business information, and follow-up to advance sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business by gathering leads, conducting cold calls, and scheduling appointments.
- Converse with small-to-medium-sized business owners to introduce products and services.
- Collect business details including business name, address, current marketing strategies, payment method, sales volume, and current pricing, then enter lead information into databases.
- Gather credit card processing statements to support pricing analysis and to better understand business financial situations.
- Follow up with potential clients to further engage business opportunities.
- Manage the business pipeline and develop a payment strategy intended to support long-term success.
- Meet and exceed required sales targets.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the US at the time of hire. Universal Processing is an E-Verify employer.
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin-Chinese is required, including the ability to read and write in Mandarin.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Communications, Finance, or a related field is preferred (text truncated in source).
- Previous sales or customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to speak confidently and connect with potential clients by phone.
- A willingness to learn and a drive to build negotiation and sales skills.
Compensation
This is a non-exempt position. The base rate is $27.00/hour during the probationary period. After successful completion of the probationary period, the base rate will increase to $30.00/hour.
