Business Development Manager
Job Description
Rye Electric, Inc seeks an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to identify and secure new opportunities in the electrical construction sector. Based in Los Angeles with a hybrid work arrangement, the role focuses on expanding market presence and driving revenue across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the electrical construction market.
- Build and sustain relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, facility managers, engineers, architects, and other key stakeholders.
- Create and manage a robust pipeline of prospective projects and clients.
- Lead business development activities from initial outreach through contract execution.
- Form and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company growth objectives.
- Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, trade associations, and client meetings to expand market visibility.
- Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership to position Rye Electric for project opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, upcoming projects, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Assist in developing proposals, presentations, qualifications packages, and client-facing materials.
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities, opportunities, and forecasts in the CRM system.
- Support contract negotiations and project handoff to operations teams upon award.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Rye Electric's capabilities, services, and strategic goals.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of successful business development, sales, or client relationship management experience within the electrical construction industry.
- Proven history of securing and closing new business opportunities.
- Strong network of industry contacts including general contractors, developers, owners, and design professionals.
- Thorough understanding of electrical construction processes, project delivery methods, estimating, and contracting.
- Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and long-term client relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
