Business Development Manager
Job Description
DeVry University is seeking a Business Development Manager for a hybrid role in Chicago, IL. In this position, you will focus on identifying and securing new logo accounts for DeVryWorks, with particular emphasis on growth through DeVryWorks Completion Grant partnerships.
Role Summary
You will expand DeVryWorks’ customer base by developing new business opportunities and progressing them through to closed deals. Performance is evaluated based on the number of deals closed and the timing of first enrollments from new accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research prospective clients to grow the customer base through DeVryWorks Completion Grant partnerships.
- Generate leads using multiple channels, including cold calling, email outreach, and social networking.
- Connect with prospects to understand their needs and determine the fit of DeVryWorks products and services.
- Qualify leads using defined criteria to support efficient sales execution.
- Present and communicate the value proposition of the products and services to prospective clients.
- Deliver product demonstrations to explain benefits and features.
- Use a proactive, persistent approach to close a high volume of deals within defined timeframes.
- Address objections and concerns to support successful deal closures.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular progress updates to the sales management team.
- Track and prioritize leads using CRM tools throughout the sales process.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support a timely transition from sales to activation.
- Collect client feedback to inform product and service improvements.
- Apply sales enablement technology to drive outcomes, including Salesforce, Gong, MS Teams, ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn Navigator.
- Use trends and reporting for continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in facilitation, including virtual delivery.
- Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Motivated, self-driven, and results-oriented with strategic, logical, and methodical thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of adult learning theory with the ability to build loyalty and trust.
- Ability and willingness to work as part of an interdependent team that shares and exchanges ideas.
- Capability to multi-task and respond effectively to impromptu changes in direction.
- Creative and innovative mindset focused on process improvement.
- Strong interest in the Education or Skills Training industry.
Preferred Education
- Master’s degree preferred.
