Business Development Manager-Automotive Aftermarket (Wheels & Accessories)
Job Description
The Wheel Group is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow new business in an automotive aftermarket territory focused on wheels & accessories. This is an outside, field-based role centered on face-to-face selling, active prospecting, and full-cycle account acquisition across Manhattan and the surrounding area.
You will spend the majority of your time in the field generating opportunities, building a reliable pipeline through consistent customer outreach, and partnering with internal teams to support long-term growth for new accounts.
Responsibilities
- Focus most of your time on field prospecting, cold calling, and in-person customer visits to generate new business opportunities.
- Conduct back-to-back sales calls and customer visits across the assigned territory to maintain a consistent flow of new pipeline.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new customer opportunities through networking, referrals, cold calling, and on-the-ground prospecting.
- Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through presenting, negotiating, and closing new business.
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity goals, including customer visits, prospecting, and new account acquisition.
- Create strategic territory plans designed to increase market penetration and drive revenue growth.
- Build strong relationships with new customers and coordinate with internal account teams to support ongoing growth.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including pipeline activity, customer visit details, and sales forecasts.
- Research market trends, competitor activity, and additional growth opportunities within the territory.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to support a seamless customer experience.
Requirements
- Experience selling wheels, tires, accessories, performance products, or other automotive aftermarket product lines.
- Experience calling on automotive retailers, distributors, dealers, warehouse distributors, or wholesale customers.
- Proven ability to prospect, cold call, and develop new business within an assigned territory.
- Proven ability to grow new business while maintaining long-term customer relationships.
- Strong business acumen, including the ability to identify market opportunities and grow market share.
- Solid communication, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated approach and ability to work independently in a field-based outside sales environment.
- Experience managing sales activity and pipeline information in a CRM.
Location and Compensation
- Location: Manhattan, NY (onsite)
- Salary: USD 55,000 per year
