Business Development Manager – Industrial Fluid Sealing
Job Description
The Business Development Manager will drive growth for Ferguson Enterprises in the Industrial Fluid Sealing division by identifying opportunities, shaping go-to-market plans, managing major industrial accounts, and securing high-value settlements. The role requires a strong field presence with 50 percent travel and an on-site workspace at a fabrication center or branch in the Richmond, Virginia area.

Compensation: USD 3,600 - 7,791 per month
Experience: Minimum 2 years
Travel: 50 percent of the time
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate opportunities aligned with the organization’s strategic plans
- Guide the creation and preparation of business proposals and present recommendations to senior management
- Collaborate with District Directors to map opportunities and define go-to-market approaches
- Partner with local sales representatives, branch management, and district leadership to implement a coordinated fluid sealing sales strategy
- Prioritize engagement with large single-site industrial customers and national enterprise accounts
- Lead key projects from inception to close and be accountable for successful deal closure
- Oversee development, implementation, and tracking of strategic business targets
- Direct and mentor junior professionals
- Support the development of processes to meet project requirements and design projects that meet financial and operational criteria
- Handle projects with complex scope
- Prepare documents and materials for meetings and negotiations with potential clients and business partners
- Forecast quarterly shipments for the assigned brand
- Develop and implement product or sales initiatives
- Maintain relationships with key decision-makers both inside and outside the organization
Requirements
- 2+ years of fluid sealing experience
- Experience working with industrial customers in Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, and Power Generation markets, with a strong preference for Chemical and Refining end users
- 3+ years of Business Development Management experience preferred
- Strong sales background; industrial experience preferred
- Competitive drive with a consultative, value-based selling approach
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and listening skills
- Product and vendor knowledge required or the ability to learn quickly
- Valid driver’s license
- Role requires 50% travel
