Job Description

Ballard Marine Construction is hiring a Business Development Representative to drive prospective client engagement, market analysis, and relationship growth on site in Bradenton, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strategic customer relationships that generate leads and opportunities
  • Build and apply in-depth knowledge to describe Ballard’s services across Power, Water/Wastewater, Industrial, Environmental, and Transportation industries
  • Communicate Ballard’s strategic vision clearly and concisely to key stakeholders and potential customers
  • Report on market conditions, activities, and trends, including customer or prospect changes, technical developments, market dynamics, and competitor strategies
  • Partner with the BD team to support identification and implementation of new markets
  • Collaborate with the TCG Business Development group to strengthen coordination between Ballard and TCG
  • Support preparation of customer presentations, and deliver pitches and presentations to prospective clients
  • Analyze and collaborate to improve business processes and help ensure customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate pre-show planning, attend, and complete post-show activities for national and regional trade shows
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities to target, and record targets in the CRM
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or equivalent education/experience
  • Five years of professional experience in the business development department within an A/E/C firm
  • CRM database experience, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
  • Proven experience in Ballard’s markets: Power, Water/Wastewater, Industrial, Environmental, and Transportation industries
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organization skills with high attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, high-energy, and able to perform in a fast-paced team environment with continued growth and development
  • Professional demeanor that builds trust, reflects positively on the company, and supports goodwill
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills, plus strong oral communication skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong keyboarding skills

Work Location

  • Bradenton, FL (onsite)

Salary

  • USD 120,000 - 150,000 per yearly
  • Pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications

Physical Demands / Working Environment

  • May visit project sites and be able to work in varied weather conditions and in a construction environment around equipment/machinery
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time
