Responsibilities
- Serve as the escalation point for complex client issues, applying strategic problem solving to resolve conflicts while preserving strong client relationships
- Lead the structuring of high value, complex deals and coordinate credit approvals to align with client needs and bank objectives
- Oversee credit approvals and pricing coordination, representing the client perspective to ensure alignment with client needs and bank goals
- Negotiate high value, complex transactions and credit approvals to ensure structures meet client requirements
- Manage high value client portfolios, driving cross selling, retention, and profitability
- Implement cross selling initiatives and successfully convert opportunities into revenue generating engagements
- Lead market coverage strategies to expand portfolios, identify opportunities, and align with business goals
- Represent the bank at industry forums and conferences, leveraging trends, competition, and product insights to inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross functional teams to align strategies and deliver holistic financial solutions
- Provide leadership with reports on team performance, client satisfaction, market trends, and key strategic initiatives to inform corporate strategy
- Offer strategic advisory on loan products, options, rates, terms and collateral requirements to tailor solutions
- Build and maintain long term relationships with high value and strategic clients, delivering strategic financial guidance and exceptional service
- Structure deals, secure credit approvals, negotiate high value transactions, and identify cross selling opportunities
- Analyze market trends, client industry developments, and competitive positioning to inform solution strategy and client satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal teams to define products, solutions, and strategies that best fit client needs
- Identify share of wallet opportunities within client relationships
- Leverage analytical tools to grow a portfolio that surpasses ROE targets and proactively evaluate client returns
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance policies across relationship management
- Operate at a group or enterprise level as a specialist resource for senior leaders and stakeholders
- Apply expertise to address unique or ambiguous situations and solve non routine problems creatively
- Implement changes in response to shifting market trends
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
- Take measured risks within the Risk Management Framework, aligning with risk appetite, policies, and applicable laws and regulations
Requirements
- 10+ years of related experience in Relationship Management, Account Management, or Portfolio Management in a corporate or similarly segmented banking environment with demonstrated sales metrics is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree is required; degrees in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting are preferred; related disciplines or commensurate experience will be considered
- Credit qualifications or the ability to obtain them as required for the portfolio
- Seasoned professional blending education, experience, and industry knowledge
