Senior Associate, Business Development Officer in JPMorganChase's Middle Market Banking, based in Irvine, CA onsite, leads national business development initiatives for the Pacific Region to generate high-quality sales leads by engaging prospective clients and identifying opportunities to create mutually beneficial banking relationships.
Responsibilities
- Research prospects to identify the best points of contact, monitor events shaping banking needs, and develop a strategic plan to win new Commercial Bank relationships.
- Use a mix of cold calls, emails, event invitations, and targeted campaigns to stay in quarterly contact with a portfolio of 800–1,000 prospects.
- Build relationships with qualified prospects with $20M–$100M in sales in assigned markets and coordinate introductions to bankers when appropriate.
- Actively pursue ongoing education about the full suite of offerings, including treasury, credit, retirement planning, investment banking, and related products.
- Work closely with partners across the firm to prioritize prospects, share best practices, leverage competitive intelligence, and adjust strategy as needed.
- Maintain thorough records of activities with each prospect to ensure consistent communication across multiple touchpoints within the bank.
Requirements
- 5+ years of sales or business development experience in Commercial and Business Banking.
- Business-to-business sales experience.
- Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, with comfort on phone and email channels.
- Proactive, persistent, tenacious, nimble, and creative approach to outreach.
- Willingness and ability to travel to markets and sales meetings as appropriate.
