Job Description
CIBC US Asset-Based Lending seeks a Senior Business Development Manager to identify, develop, and close asset-based lending transactions and drive new client acquisition through intermediaries, direct outreach, and sponsorship channels.

- Location: Madison, NY (hybrid)
- Salary: USD 200,000 - 260,000 per year
- Experience: Minimum 10 years
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and assist in closing high quality asset-based lending transactions for CIBC US ABL.
- Expand CIBC presence by aligning with existing offerings across commercial banking, capital markets, wealth management, and commercial real estate.
- Maintain a relationship-focused approach to bring in new clients via third-party intermediaries/advisors, internal referrals, direct outreach to middle-market prospects, and financial sponsors.
- Target middle-market, entrepreneur-led or privately-held companies, publicly traded customers, and financially sponsored businesses with financing needs typically in the 10MM to 75MM range, with syndication capabilities beyond 75MM.
- Collaborate closely with the ABL Underwriting Team to evaluate opportunities and convert them into new banking clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Minimum 10 years of asset-based lending experience.
- At least 5 years as a business development officer for a commercial or ABL lender with a focus on quality centers of influence.
- Deep understanding of the asset-based lending industry, market structures, and competition (bank and non-bank).
- Established referral source network with a track record of consistent calling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with online prospecting tools (RelPro, Salesforce, Pitchbook, Loan Connector, etc).
- Self-starter capable of working from home with appropriate office space; strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively according to the marketing plan.
