District Sales Manager
Job Description
The District Sales Manager oversees a team of Territory Managers across Pennsylvania to drive revenue growth, manage key accounts, and coordinate cross functional resources. This on site role is based in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Salary: USD 80,000 - 130,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Lead a group of Territory Managers (TMs) in selling the companys products and services, applying product knowledge, organizational resources, and customer insight to generate revenue.
- Direct TMs in closing opportunities, penetrating existing accounts, and pursuing new account acquisition and development within a specified district.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to TMs to achieve profitable sales and growth objectives.
- The territory for this role includes Altoona, Belford, State College, PA and surrounding areas.
- Manage seven or more Territory Managers across Altoona, Bedford, State College and adjacent sales territories.
- Lead TMs to meet division sales, penetration, and churn reduction objectives; develop long and short range sales plans and coach TMs in creating effective action plans to achieve AOP and company goals.
- Direct TMs toward high quality leads, assist in warming and closing leads, open new accounts, reduce churn, and coordinate with New Business Manager to pursue high potential accounts.
- Submit and administer the annual street sales operating plan and budget, review expenses, credits, donations, and contracts, and track performance against the plan to close gaps.
- Leverage the Sales Coordinator role to reduce administrative tasks; resolve TM and customer issues and collaborate with Restaurant Operations Consultant, Menu Analyst, Culinary Specialists, Customer Solutions Coordinator, Senior Sales Analyst, and New Business Manager to grow penetration and new accounts.
- Assist in coordinating product cuttings and demonstrations; develop sales and marketing strategies and proposals for customers on products and services; conduct market research to determine customer needs and relay information to the sales staff.
- Communicate sales data to inform product and service planning; assist in planning district sales meetings and events with Marketing and Merchandising personnel.
- Understand and utilize the Sales Foundations tools and processes to grow sales, generate additional revenue, and maintain customer service standards.
- Coach and direct TMs toward top account penetration and high quality lead acquisition, creating action plans to achieve AOP and compensation goals and ensuring TM accountability for account development and goal attainment.
- Recruit, train, and mentor new hires as well as existing TMs; conduct field support/work-with sessions to observe coaching and training needs and recommend development initiatives.
- Oversee, manage, and assess TM performance to plan regularly; implement performance improvement or disciplinary measures as needed, and assist TMs with organizational skills, account strategies, and territory planning.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and product developments affecting target markets; establish industry contacts that generate prospective sales and evaluate product mix against customer needs.
- Research and develop lists of potential customers, make targeted sales calls to build relationships and follow up on leads with the sales staff; conduct periodic Customer Business Reviews to identify needs and relationship gaps.
- Assist in aligning customer delivery and driver engagement where applicable.
- Oversee the communication and execution of company policies within the sales department.
- Ensure the sales organization is appropriately staffed and managed to minimize turnover.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of foodservice sales experience.
- A minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
- Overnight travel may be required for trainings, meetings, or other company events.
- Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with customer service and presentation abilities.
- Proficient computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license.
- Candidates with a DUI conviction for drugs or alcohol within the last three years will not be considered eligible.
- Other license history will be reviewed to meet company standards.
