Head of Partnerships (Business Development)
Job Description
Own a relationship-driven partnership engine to create a new revenue line for RefillGenie through commercial deals with organizations serving patients who need bridge prescription access.
Responsibilities
- Define the partnership targets by identifying organization types whose members or patients would benefit from bridge prescription access, including health plans, employers, value-based care groups, condition-management programs, and others discovered through outreach
- Build and prioritize a target list based on fit, deal size, and probability to close
- Drive outreach and access to decision-makers using outbound, warm introductions, industry events, and other channels that work
- Manage long, relationship-led sales cycles with patience and discipline across multiple months when needed
- Represent RefillGenie credibly when meeting healthcare executives, negotiating commercial terms, and closing partnerships
- Structure partnership economics in collaboration with founders so terms make sense for both sides
- Support operational launch post-close by helping stand up what’s needed to make the partnership work, then gradually hand off to the appropriate internal owner
- Capture market feedback from conversations with prospective partners, tracking which organizations show strong interest, recurring objections, and blockers preventing movement
- Help shape the function as it scales with the founders to define what the role becomes over time
Requirements
- Healthcare or regulated industry experience (healthcare, health tech, or related) with understanding of how healthcare organizations make buying decisions and who influences them
- End-to-end business development ownership in partnerships or sales where you owned the relationship from first conversation through signed agreement
- Ability to operate without structure and build the process as you go, without a playbook, large team, or much operational scaffolding
- Patience for a long cycle staying engaged with prospects for months while maintaining momentum
- Strong judgment and professional maturity to represent a small company with larger healthcare organizations
- Written and verbal communication strength with collaboration occurring largely asynchronously
- Comfort with role ambiguity and willingness to help define what the function looks like
Role Scope
- Build and own a new revenue line for RefillGenie: partnerships with organizations whose members or patients need bridge prescription access
- No existing playbook or warm pipeline: defining the target list, making initial outreach, and closing early partnerships directly
- Business-building ownership: not lead generation
- Independent, senior-level execution: identify worthwhile organizations, build relationships with the right people, structure commercial terms, and close
- Some partnerships may take months before generating revenue
- Growth potential: well-executed partnerships could grow to match or exceed the existing consumer business within a few years
- Part-time start with a base salary plus commission/bonus tied to partnerships closed
- Flexible hours based on workload, suited to someone building a portfolio of client relationships
- Expected evolution: potentially scaling to a larger role, potentially full-time, potentially with a team underneath as partnerships come online
Nice to Have
- Existing relationships with health plans, employers, value-based care organizations, or similar
- Experience building a business development function from scratch rather than working within an existing one
- Experience with usage-based or per-member pricing models

- Remote
