Job Description

International Business Development Principal based in Orlando, FL, leading international pursuit and capture for air-launched weapons and sensors at Lockheed Martin MISSILES AND FIRE CONTROL, with extensive travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Spot international markets for hypersonic weapons, strike missiles, sensors, and related sectors; design and execute capture strategies to win opportunities.
  • Engage with customers to shape long-range weapon system and sensor opportunities, considering requirements, existing capabilities, and funding constraints.
  • Translate customer needs into industry-based development and technical solutions, aligned with internal and customer funding priorities.
  • Coordinate closely with Program Management, staff, and functional teams to align business objectives with customer priorities.
  • Identify new and adjacent opportunities and define capture strategies to pursue them.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with international organizations, potential partners, and suppliers, including LM Aero, LM RMS, and LM Space collaboration areas.
  • Coordinate activities with US government offices and Country Teams to secure ongoing support and monitor initiative status within the US Government.
  • Obtain required Department of State export licenses to market products abroad.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, general correspondence, requests for technical and pricing data, and other business transactions.
  • Contribute to and manage input for the Long Range Operating Plan.
  • Support proposal development for new and follow-on capture activities.
  • Develop overhead, capital, and new business acquisition expenditure requirements.
  • Conduct business in strict compliance with corporate and company command media and applicable state, federal, and international regulations.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in business development and/or operational roles.
  • Requires an Interim Secret security clearance to be eligible.
  • High flexibility with the ability to travel worldwide (approximately 8-10 international trips and 4-5 domestic trips per year).
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced international environment.
  • Self motivated and able to operate with minimal guidance and succeed in a highly competitive arena.
  • Extensive knowledge of domestic and international customer bases with proven relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze customer needs and translate them into programmatic processes.
  • Thorough understanding of international and U.S. budgeting and acquisition processes and ability to shape capture strategies accordingly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for audiences across business and government.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal abilities.
  • Team oriented with the ability to organize and motivate a diverse group toward common objectives.
  • Proven track record of closing deals and delivering timely results.
  • Experience level: Experienced Professional.
