Job Description
Support a high-impact, outbound-first sales team while building long-term talent pipelines. This onsite role in San Francisco, CA offers a base salary of USD 114,855 - 168,870 per year and includes benefits like medical, dental, vision, mental health support, paid parental leave, life and disability insurance, a 401(k), and an employee stock purchasing program.
As a Sales Development Manager at Salesforce, you will lead and coach Business Development Representatives (BDRs) responsible for outbound prospecting and generating qualified pipeline. You will also drive operational excellence, forecasting discipline, and cross-functional alignment across Operations, Marketing, Programs, Strategy, and Sales Leadership.
What you’ll do
- Hire, onboard, and develop a diverse, high-performing BDR team, using coaching and regular feedback to prepare talent for future Account Executive roles.
- Drive quota performance through data-driven coaching, creative incentives, and recognition, while reinforcing a culture of curiosity, accountability, and growth.
- Own outbound prospecting strategy and execution to generate quality pipeline and revenue.
- Build and optimize processes that improve efficiency, productivity, and business impact.
- Use performance data to pinpoint gaps and opportunities, then develop plans to address them quickly.
- Track, analyze, and report team and individual performance against goals, and forecast pipeline and revenue contribution accurately.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align on business priorities, campaign follow-up, and market strategy.
What you bring
- 3+ years of sales leadership experience managing teams of 7+ quota-carrying reps, preferably in business development, inside sales, or SDR/BDR environments.
- A proven record delivering on pipeline and revenue goals.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, hire, and develop top talent.
- Passion for coaching and developing early career sales professionals.
- Strong executive presence with communication and presentation skills.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Strategy, and Enablement.
- Ability to plan and execute a Quarterly Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy aligned to broader company priorities.
- Comfort as a self-starter in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- Experience as an individual contributor in B2B software sales, with a strong history of meeting or exceeding quotas preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Compensation details: The typical base salary range for this position is $114,855 - $153,660 annually. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range is $126,230 - $168,870 per year. The range represents base salary only and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity, or benefits, as applicable.
