Job Description

Salesforce is seeking a Manager, Sales Development in Atlanta to lead a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) responsible for outbound prospecting and generating qualified pipeline. The role focuses on coaching, team development, pipeline and forecast management, operational excellence, and alignment with cross-functional partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Talent development: Recruit, onboard, and develop a diverse, high-performing BDR team using coaching and consistent feedback to build sales-ready talent for future Account Executive opportunities.
  • Quota leadership: Motivate the team to exceed quota through data-driven coaching, creative incentives, and recognition while strengthening a culture of curiosity, accountability, and growth.
  • Outbound execution: Own and drive outbound prospecting strategy and execution to generate quality pipeline and revenue.
  • Operational excellence: Build and improve processes that increase efficiency, productivity, and overall team impact.
  • Performance problem-solving: Use performance data to pinpoint gaps and opportunities, then develop and implement action plans quickly.
  • Pipeline and forecasting: Track, analyze, and report on team and individual performance against goals; provide accurate forecasting of pipeline and revenue contribution.
  • Cross-functional alignment: Partner with Operations, Marketing, Programs, Strategy, and Sales Leadership to align on business priorities, campaign follow-up, and market strategy.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of sales leadership experience managing teams of 7+ quota-carrying reps (business development, inside sales, or SDR/BDR environments preferred).
  • Business results: Proven ability to deliver on pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Hiring capability: Demonstrated skill in identifying, hiring, and building top talent.
  • Coaching focus: Passion for mentoring and developing early-career sales professionals.
  • Communication: Strong executive presence, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Strategy, and Enablement.
  • GTM planning: Ability to plan and execute a Quarterly Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy aligned to broader company priorities.
  • Work style: Self-starter who performs well in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Sales background: B2B software sales individual contributor experience with a strong record of meeting or exceeding quotas preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
