Job Description
A Boston area retirement plan advisory professional is sought to develop new business on-site in Wakefield, MA, providing fiduciary guidance to Plan Sponsors and supporting defined contribution plan management.
Responsibilities
- Build internal relationships with Sentinel Associates across the organization to gain a clear understanding of Sentinel’s products and client solutions.
- Grow the business by engaging current and prospective clients and educating them on Sentinel’s full range of services.
- Qualify prospects, assess their position in the market, and research sales options to identify opportunities.
- Develop a scalable RFP process and deliver responses for new prospects and cross-sell opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing as the liaison for client and prospect events and email campaigns.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reading publications, and participating in professional networks.
- Demonstrate a track record of hunting and turning new direct contacts into prospects and Centers of Influence.
Requirements
- Strong passion for consulting and client engagement
- Excellent presentation skills
- DC/DB consulting experience including plan design and documents
- Familiarity with DC markets and recordkeepers
- Active listening with the ability to provide client solutions
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with Centers of Influence
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of sales experience in retirement, advisory, and compliance services
- Previous sales and retirement knowledge required
- Licensed Series 65 and Life, Accident and Health
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and follow-up skills
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to learn additional software packages

The Purpose of the Role
- Offer opportunity for a high-performing sales professional to develop new business and contribute to the Boston area sales effort
- Provide fiduciary guidance to Plan Sponsors through our advisory team
- Support all aspects of DC plan management including investments, compliance, plan design, service providers, and financial wellness
- Target a candidate capable of making a significant impact within Sentinel
- Be part of Sentinel’s growth plan, demonstrating a history of hunting and converting direct contacts into new prospects and Centers of Influence
- Operate in a fiduciary capacity with Plan Sponsors as part of our Retirement Plan Advisory team
- Deliver comprehensive support beyond investment advice, including plan management resources and 3(21) and 3(38) advisory services
- Adhere to fiduciary governance practices as an independent team of accredited investment advisors
- Support due diligence, fee benchmarking, ERISA compliance, investment monitoring, and plan performance tracking to manage fiduciary risk
- Lead, train, and motivate peers and clients to achieve excellence
