Sales Manager
Job Description
Lead Denver Health Medical Plan (DHMP) sales efforts across Government and Commercial Insurance Products while overseeing team performance and sales execution in a hybrid schedule in Denver.
Responsibilities
- Manage DHMP sales teams, strategy, and performance by developing and continuously assessing business plans, sales targets and quotas, operational competencies, and outcomes tied to growth and retention (20%)
- Define short- and long-term sales strategies; evaluate effectiveness of sales programs; coordinate with the sales team and internal partners (including Marketing and Product Line Managers) to execute growth and retention plans (20%)
- Ensure sales policy and procedure development, communication, marketing, and sales activities comply with applicable Federal and State regulations for health insurance products (10%)
- Identify networking opportunities and support market presence strategy; represent the organization at community and open enrollment events (10%)
- Develop and oversee staff training; create meaningful data measures to track team and product sales performance (10%)
- Monitor performance metrics and report results to the Executive Team and other stakeholders (10%)
- Partner with Marketing and the Sales Manager to understand target audiences and customer profiles; apply this information to acquire new customers (10%)
- Manage contracting needs, assess organizational requirements, and monitor performance of external brokers (10%)
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- In lieu of an Associate’s degree: High School diploma or GED plus 10 years’ sales experience required
- Minimum 7 years sales experience required
- 1–3 years Health Insurance experience required
- 1+ year leading employees at varying levels with proven success meeting and exceeding goals required
- State of Colorado Producers Licensure required
- America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Medicare and Sales Licensure required
- Good judgment and ability to work cooperatively in an integrated team environment
- Service-oriented working style
- Excellent organization, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail and analytics
- Compliance minded and honest
- Self-starter who works with limited supervision and guidance
- Knowledge of insurance products including Medicare Advantage, Exchange, and/or Large Group plans
- Must live in Colorado
- Hybrid role in Denver, Colorado with a requirement to be on site 3 days per week
