Sales Manager
Job Description
Wyld is hiring a Sales Manager to lead state-level revenue growth and build a high-performing sales team in Ridgefield, NJ (onsite).
Responsibilities
- Own overall sales performance and execution within the state, including revenue growth, market share, and profitability
- Develop and lead strategic plans aligned to company objectives and updated as market conditions change
- Drive consistent sales execution with strong distribution, in-store presence, and customer experience
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team, building a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Set clear expectations, performance standards, and team development plans
- Maintain a strong field presence to stay connected to execution and market dynamics, with 60-80% of time in market
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, partners, and stakeholders across the market
- Oversee account strategy and execution to support long-term growth and brand positioning
- Act as a senior point of contact for critical customer needs and opportunities
- Partner with internal teams including Distribution, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to ensure alignment and execution excellence
- Support planning, forecasting, and resource allocation to drive effective execution
- Ensure adherence to company standards, processes, and regulatory requirements
- Use data and market insights to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and communicate performance to leadership
- Identify opportunities, risks, and market trends, and translate them into actionable strategies
- Take on additional leadership responsibilities and strategic initiatives as the business evolves
Requirements
- 7+ years of direct sales, sales operations, or related field experience, including CPG and wholesaler exposure
- Progressive sales experience or multi-state or regional leadership preferred
- Strong understanding of B2B sales, distributor models, and regulated markets (cannabis or CPG strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to develop talent, improve execution, and deliver results across diverse markets
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving organization with significant travel
- Experience working with a high sense of urgency in a team environment or independently
- Strong communication skills to lead peers and collaborate across teams
- Ability to work urgently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Professional handling of confidential and sensitive information
- Familiarity with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and work management tools such as Slack, Jira, or similar
- Ability to travel occasionally between company buildings or work sites as needed
- Must be at least 21 years of age, as required by applicable state regulations
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, where permitted by law
- Must obtain and maintain all required licenses, permits, certifications, or registrations under applicable federal, state, provincial, or local laws and regulations
- ServSafe Certification or Food Handler’s Card preferred, where applicable
- Compliance with all company safety, sanitation, quality, and food safety policies at all times
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
