Senior Account Executive – Business Development
Job Description
Drive strategic growth in the student health insurance market by owning key higher education relationships, sales execution, and contract outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and run strategic sales plans to expand market share and achieve revenue targets.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with university administrators, student affairs leaders, and benefits managers.
- Assess client needs and shape tailored insurance solutions aligned to institutional goals and student wellness priorities.
- Lead contract discussions, renewals, and pricing strategies with clients and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory changes, competitive activity, and emerging trends in student health insurance.
- Coordinate with underwriting, marketing, compliance, and customer service teams to support client onboarding and satisfaction.
- Track and maintain accurate records for sales activity, pipeline development, and revenue forecasts using sales tools.
- Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
- Follow AHP Cybersecurity policies and practices, including:
- Annual attestation to the Employee Information Security Handbook
- Full participation in Information Security Awareness Training
- Securely manage accounts in AHP information systems
- Protect sensitive information, including electronic Private Health Information (ePHI) if required for access
- Protect the AHP-provided laptop
- Report information security concerns per provided instructions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Strong understanding of ACA compliance, waiver processes, and student health plan structures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
Skills & Experience (Preferred)
- Experience working with self-funded and fully insured student health plans.
- Familiarity with university procurement processes and RFP responses.
- Existing relationships within the higher education sector.
- Familiarity with student health portals, waiver systems, and enrollment platforms.

Compensation
- USD 115,000 - 125,000 per year
- Pay range note: Provided in good faith based on lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate for the role, taking into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
