Senior Business Development Director
Job Description
Veristat is seeking a Senior Business Development Director to steer strategic growth from California with remote work options. In this senior leadership capacity, you will drive the pursuit of new business opportunities, manage the sales cycle through to closure, and coordinate with internal teams to prepare compelling client presentations and foster partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and expansion of new business opportunities within established accounts and prospective clients by guiding overall business planning.
- Identify and cultivate sales leads and collaborate with Proposals and Contracts to move the sales process toward contract closure.
- Prepare and deliver project-specific client presentations in partnership with the functional departments related to Veristat’s core services and capabilities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the client and the company on all sales activities to expand visibility, name recognition, and professional credibility in the market.
- Assist in developing promotional material to promote the company’s industry recognition.
- Work closely with Project Management and Finance to establish strategic partnerships with new and existing clients and coordinate with all internal groups to enhance performance and client relations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business, science, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience selling services in a CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences setting, with expert knowledge of the clinical research process and requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to prepare and deliver high‑quality capabilities and sales presentations.
- Experience with proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing a contract.
- Ability to learn quickly and assimilate the detail of project requirements; flexibility and strong multitasking ability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
- Travel up to 50% is required.
