Job Description
Ericsson is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to accelerate growth in Mobile Financial Services across North America. Based in Mobile, Alabama with a hybrid work arrangement, this role builds a self-sourced pipeline and leads end-to-end, multi-million-dollar engagements, translating complex technology into strategic business outcomes for financial institutions and fintech partners.
Responsibilities
- Build new business in the US market across targeted segments through proactive outreach, strategic account targeting, and disciplined pipeline development.
- Engage in consultative, solution-based selling by understanding client needs, shaping value-led propositions, and positioning Ericsson Mobile Financial Services to address strategic, operational, and commercial priorities.
- Create and maintain a self-sourced pipeline via proactive outreach and strategic targeting of accounts.
- Lead full sales cycles as the primary owner: prospecting, qualification, deal shaping, pricing negotiations, closing, and handover to delivery.
- Manage large, complex opportunities end-to-end, coordinating across stakeholders and closing multi-million-dollar platform or services-led engagements.
- Develop business cases, value narratives, and commercial proposals that articulate customer outcomes and Ericsson differentiation.
- Build and maintain relationships with C-level stakeholders across business and technology functions.
- Utilize Ericsson sales processes, tools, and practices to improve discipline, opportunity quality, and deal velocity.
- Collaborate with product, pre-sales, delivery, legal, and finance teams to shape and win deals.
- Represent Ericsson at key industry events and client engagements.
- Maintain high-quality pipeline management, opportunity qualification, and accurate forecasting and CRM records.
- Ensure all sales activities align with Ericsson's Doing Business Responsibly framework.
- Build and activate ecosystem partnerships to enhance offerings and capture market opportunities.
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of enterprise sales experience with a focus on Mobile Financial Services, fintech, or payments.
- Proven track record of new business acquisition and revenue growth in an outbound sales capacity.
- Demonstrated success closing complex, high-value deals.
- Ability to create opportunities and open new accounts by leveraging an established professional network.
- Experience selling to financial institutions or fintechs, with knowledge of relevant regulatory environments.
- Strong understanding of digital payments, digital wallets, and financial ecosystems.
- Ability to engage effectively with executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong commercial skills including deal structuring, pricing, and negotiation.
- Ability to translate technical solutions into clear business outcomes.
- Effectiveness in multicultural and cross-functional environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range for this role is USD 149,600 to 202,650 per year, with location-based variations. Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Rhode Island, and Vermont roles typically fall in the USD 149,600 to 196,350 band. California (excluding Bay Area counties), DC, New Jersey, New York, and Washington State posts range from USD 154,400 to 202,650, while California's Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties show USD 161,600 to 212,100.
