Responsibilities
- Identify, interview, and approve new agency appointments to grow GEICO’s agency distribution footprint.
- Manage agents in a defined area through in person, virtual, phone, and email interactions to build relationships, deliver trainings, and monitor performance.
- Execute the agency program policies and procedures.
- Analyze the territory to determine where to allocate time and resources, then develop and execute a strategic plan to drive growth and profitability.
- Apply knowledge of GEICO commercial products, market positioning, industry trends, sales tools, and agency technology to design effective sales calls that help agencies solve problems and increase revenue.
- Prepare pre-call strategies and identify new areas to grow the agency’s written premium, documenting each sales call and strategy.
- Collaborate with product management to identify opportunities and provide competitive intelligence to improve GEICO’s market position.
- Document best practices to prospect, qualify, and onboard new commercial agencies to expand distribution.
- Outline processes to train principals, agents, and representatives on GEICO products and processes, delivering feedback to product and strategy teams as available.
- Monitor agent performance against action plans and take needed steps to help partners grow their GEICO-driven business.
- Create and deliver annual and semi-annual sales plans, with ongoing updates to leadership for strategic reporting.
- Engage with state and industry associations to guide growth in new and existing states.
- Develop onboarding, training, and development plans for new GEICO sales teams and processes, including mentoring.
Requirements
- Ability to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts, and manage priorities with strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
- Proven track record of driving sales results.
- Experience across multiple lines of insurance is a plus (P&C, Commercial, Life/Health).
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation, including seeing, hearing, typing, and speaking.
- Clear, empathetic, and professional telephone communication.
- Adherence to GEICO Code of Conduct and company policies.
- Compliance with GEICO driving standards and policy.
- Attendance at the business location to perform necessary job functions and collaborate with team and management.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Location and travel
- Onsite role based in Minneapolis, MN.
- Candidates should reside near a major airport and be able to travel overnight within the IA/MN/WI region (territory IA/MN/WI).
- Overnight travel requirement: approximately 50%.
