Job Description

Avant Care Home Health Care Inc. seeks an experienced executive to lead business development in a hybrid role based in Chicago. The Vice President of Business Development will drive census growth, strengthen referral partnerships, expand market presence, and identify strategic opportunities for a hospice and home health organization. This position collaborates with clinical, operational, and executive teams to support growth while ensuring high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with organizational goals, growth targets, and market opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives to raise home health census through targeted referral development and expansion into new markets.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key referral partners such as hospitals, physician groups, case managers, discharge planners, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and healthcare networks.
  • Identify and pursue new partnerships, contracts, and service line expansions to support long-term organizational growth.
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscapes, referral patterns, and admissions data to shape growth strategies.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to ensure readiness for growth and exceptional patient care outcomes.
  • Recruit, mentor, and guide business development professionals to meet individual and team performance targets.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, professional associations, networking functions, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs, referral metrics, and growth projections, delivering regular updates to executive leadership.
  • Ensure all marketing, outreach, and business development activities comply with Medicare regulations, state requirements, and ethical healthcare marketing practices.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the executive team regarding growth opportunities, market positioning, and competitive advantages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive healthcare business development, sales leadership, or strategic growth experience.
  • Previous experience in Home Health, SNF, hospital, post-acute care, or related healthcare services.
  • Demonstrated track record of census growth, market expansion, and referral development goals.
  • Strong leadership, relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze business performance metrics and develop data-driven growth strategies.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout designated service areas.
