Vice President of Business Development
Job Description
Hybrid role in St. Louis, MO with a leadership focus on driving strategic growth for Hankey Investment Company. You will lead business development initiatives, strengthen client relationships, and help shape market strategy across teams. Compensation for this position ranges from $220,000 to $280,000 per year, with benefits including 401(k) matching, dental insurance, health savings account, retirement plan, and vision insurance.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned to organizational growth objectives.
- Own relationship management for existing clients while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Lead client communication efforts to maintain satisfaction and engagement.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to align goals and streamline processes.
- Oversee sales negotiations and facilitate deal closing to secure new contracts and partnerships.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the business development team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Use CRM systems to track prospects, manage pipelines, and analyze sales data for strategic insight.
- Create reports and presentations using Microsoft Office tools to communicate progress and strategic plans to executive leadership.
- Drive marketing initiatives that support business growth and brand positioning in target markets.
What you bring
- Minimum 20 years of management experience with progressive leadership in business development or related fields.
- Proven strengths in relationship management, client communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong experience in sales negotiation and deal closing, including a track record of securing significant contracts.
- Exceptional team leadership experience guiding diverse teams toward shared outcomes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Extensive hands-on experience with CRM systems for customer relationship management and sales pipeline oversight.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies that support business development objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
