Vice President of Business Development
Job Description
The Vice President of Business Development at SPEC Finance will lead strategic growth initiatives, develop partnerships, and expand new business opportunities. This role is focused on defining business development strategy, extending market reach, and building high-value commercial relationships with executive leadership alignment.
Business Development Strategy
Own the formulation and execution of a comprehensive business development strategy. Responsibilities include identifying new markets, expanding commercial opportunities, strengthening competitive positioning, and supporting sustainable business growth through clearly defined initiatives.
Team Leadership and Performance Scaling
Direct, mentor, and scale business development, strategic partnerships, and commercial growth teams. The objective is to cultivate a high-performance, results-driven culture aligned with measurable outcomes and organizational priorities.
Market Expansion and Opportunity Development
Identify emerging markets and evaluate new business opportunities. Develop market-entry strategies and implement initiatives designed to expand the company’s customer base and commercial reach.
Partner and Client Relationship Management
Build, negotiate, and maintain relationships with key business partners, corporate clients, industry stakeholders, and external organizations. Establish mutually beneficial growth opportunities through ongoing partnership development and effective commercial negotiations.
Executive Alignment and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the CEO and executive leaders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations. Align business development priorities with corporate objectives and support coordinated execution of strategic initiatives.
Objectives, Measurement, and Pipeline Oversight
Set business development objectives, monitor partnership performance, and evaluate opportunity pipelines. Assess commercial outcomes to ensure strategic initiatives contribute to long-term revenue growth and overall organizational success.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15–20 years of progressive corporate experience in business development, strategic partnerships, commercial management, or corporate growth
- At least 5 years in a director-level or executive leadership role
Required Experience and Skills
- Proven ability to identify new business opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, expand market presence, negotiate commercial agreements, and deliver measurable organizational growth
- Strong expertise in market research, opportunity assessment, strategic partnership development, commercial negotiations, market-entry planning, relationship management, and business performance measurement
- Demonstrated experience tracking pipeline value, partnership contribution, revenue growth, and market expansion
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for influencing board members, C-suite executives, business partners, enterprise clients, and key industry stakeholders
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management, or a related field
- MBA or advanced business degree highly preferred
Compensation
USD 170,000 - 225,000 per year
