VP of Business Development
Job Description
Build revenue growth that strengthens community impact. The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh seeks a VP of Business Development to expand corporate partnerships, advance strategic fundraising, and grow corporate wellness programs and membership sales. This onsite role in Pittsburgh is designed for a leader who can shape association-wide strategy, bring new initiatives to early growth, and serve as the main point of contact for strategic innovation.
Compensation: USD 103,814 - 129,768 per year. Location: Pittsburgh, PA (onsite).
What you’ll do
- Identify service delivery opportunities, negotiate contracts, manage stakeholder relationships, and meet enrollment and financial goals.
- Partner with senior leadership to execute and continuously refine a comprehensive, association-wide business development strategy aligned with organizational priorities, the strategic plan, and community impact goals.
- Cultivate a culture of philanthropy through community and business partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community partners.
- Advocate for and implement creative strategies that leverage new programs and partnerships, support community-centric solutions, and encourage collaboration across the association and with partners.
- Drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency while delivering exceptional value to partners, participants, and members.
- Generate actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and identify new growth opportunities.
- Present findings compellingly to stakeholders to support alignment with organizational goals and promote informed decision-making.
- Develop and maintain KPI reports focused on lead generation, conversion, and follow-up performance; partner with leadership to address trends and improvement opportunities.
- Establish frameworks and operational infrastructure to ensure processes, contracting, and vendor relationships meet federal and state regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, mission advancement, or nonprofit development.
- Demonstrated success in major gifts and relationship management.
- Experience supervising fundraising professionals and managing performance toward goals.
- Proven ability to work effectively with CEOs, board members, and high-level volunteers.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated success in corporate and foundation fundraising (preferred).
