Area Sales Director
Job Description
As the Area Sales Director for Evolus, you will lead revenue growth and execute the company’s commercial strategy across the Western United States from an onsite base in Salt Lake City. You will supervise Regional Sales Managers and partner with Marketing, Training, Medical Affairs, Finance, Global Insights & Analytics, and HR to translate strategic priorities into field execution. This senior leadership role demands a proven ability to build high-performing teams and deliver sustainable results in a dispersed market.
Responsibilities
- Guide the Western Area to meet or exceed revenue, market share, and profitability targets
- Craft and implement strategic business plans aligned with company priorities and commercial objectives
- Hold teams accountable through performance reviews, coaching, and ongoing development
- Assess sales performance, market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
- Ensure disciplined execution of sales strategies, promotional activities, and regional commercial priorities
- Foster a culture focused on customer experience, execution excellence, and continuous improvement
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain top Regional Sales Managers and sales talent
- Build a high-performance culture through coaching, succession planning, talent development, and performance management
- Provide regular field coaching to enhance leadership capability, sales execution, and customer engagement
- Set clear expectations and provide timely feedback and development opportunities
- Identify future leaders and create development plans to strengthen organizational capability
- Lead territory planning, resource allocation, forecasting, and quota management across the Western Area
- Monitor sales trends, KPIs, and operational metrics to inform business decisions
- Ensure disciplined expense management while maximizing return on commercial investments
- Provide accurate forecasting and actionable insights to senior leadership
- Support annual business planning, incentive programs, and commercial initiatives
- Partner closely with Marketing, Sales Training, Global Insights & Analytics, Medical Affairs, Finance, HR, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution
- Provide field insights to shape commercial strategy, customer engagement, and future product initiatives
- Participate in national sales meetings, leadership meetings, product launches, and commercial planning activities
- Represent Evolus at industry meetings, customer events, and national and regional conferences
- Lead with integrity while ensuring adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance requirements

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, or aesthetics sales leadership experience
- Proven success leading multiple levels of sales leadership within a geographically dispersed organization
- Demonstrated ability to develop high-performing sales leaders and build engaged teams
- Strong financial acumen, forecasting, and budget management experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms
