Job Description

McKesson is hiring an Area Sales Manager for Post-Acute Care to lead a field-focused sales organization across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. This onsite role is built around hands-on leadership, regular territory travel, and measurable growth against a region generating more than $90M in annual revenue.

In this position, you’ll coach and develop a geographically dispersed team, strengthen high-value customer relationships, and drive consistent execution with internal partners to support revenue, profitability, and market expansion objectives.

Role Overview

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team spread across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, building a culture centered on collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Provide support to experienced and emerging sales professionals through regular field travel, coaching, mentorship, and career development.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain sales talent, while creating an environment where employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to succeed.
  • Act as a visible leader in the field by partnering with sales representatives on customer engagements, strengthening key relationships, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with Post-Acute Care customers and key decision-makers to increase market share and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute regional growth strategies while managing a territory with more than $90M in annual revenue.
  • Drive achievement of revenue, profitability, and market growth objectives using performance management and data-informed decision-making.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent execution, operational excellence, and strong customer outcomes.

Territory, Location, and Field Engagement

  • Location: Texas (onsite)
  • Territory: Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas
  • Field engagement: 75% local and/or travel
  • Preferred location: Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio (Dallas preferred)

Required Qualifications

  • 9+ years of professional experience
  • 1+ years leading people directly or indirectly
  • Valid Driver’s License with a 7-Year Motor Vehicle Record Check completed during pre-employment

Compensation and Incentives

  • Base Salary: $150,000 per year
  • Annual Management Incentive Bonus: 20%
  • Sales Incentive Opportunity: $56,000
  • Auto allowance or company car: $668 monthly
  • Long-Term Incentive (LTI) eligibility
  • Total Target Cash (TTC): $160,400 - $267,300 (base pay plus target incentive)

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Experience selling into or supporting Post-Acute Care customers, including Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs), Hospice, and Home Health
  • Existing customer relationships within the territory
  • Healthcare, medical distribution, or related industry experience
  • Experience leading multi-state territories and geographically dispersed teams
