Associate Sales Manager
Job Description
Compass is hiring an Associate Sales Manager in Chicago, IL (onsite). In this role, you coach and support a portfolio of Compass agents, lead planning and performance conversations, and help drive sales and platform initiatives aligned with company goals.
Responsibilities
- Support an agent portfolio by motivating, coaching, and mentoring agents, while providing strategic and operational guidance to the local Sales Management team.
- Retain and guide Compass agents by helping the Sales Management team foster an exceptional company culture.
- Lead regular office-wide agent meetings for growth planning, broader performance reviews, company policy updates, and other company or market updates.
- Relay market intelligence from the Research team and Business Development targets to agents.
- Provide agents with business planning support, feedback, and professional development guidance.
- Develop expertise in Compass’ tech platform to show agents how to grow their business through Compass tools and programs.
- Assist with initiatives designed to increase agent productivity and reinforce these practices through coaching.
- Track and monitor key metrics that drive revenue and improve efficiency.
- Help ensure a positive work environment to support agent satisfaction and overall retention.
- Promote positive behavioral attributes and attitudes among agents.
- Resolve agent and brokerage issues as needed.
- Serve as a culture carrier by inspiring and empowering others through a positive and constructive approach to implementing change.
- Share on-the-ground market trends from agents with Business Development and the Executive team.
- Develop and share perspectives on future agent management.
- Act as a conduit between the local team and agents by supporting sales-related initiatives and policies aligned with the company’s vision and values.
- Support strategies implemented by regional and national operations to grow adoption of Compass tech, programs, and ancillary services within the agent population.
- Partner with Business Development to collaborate on potential agent candidates.
- Lead and support agents in pitching new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with agent teams on sales presentations and proper market pricing with sellers.
- Complete annual agent contract renewals for your agent roster.

- Commitment to exceed goals through internally driven, consistent, and self-imposed effort.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- At least 2 years of Real Estate sales experience.
- Prior management experience (preferred).
- Valid real estate license in the applicable state at all times of service.
- Must obtain state license requirements for any jurisdiction in which Compass is operating (example: Broker’s level).
Compensation
- Base pay range: $83,000 to $100,000 annually. Offered base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits.
- Base pay is based on market location.
- Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
