Automotive Sales Consultant / Business Development Consultant at Toyota of Kirkland in Kirkland, WA (onsite), with a salary range of $42,000 to $216,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time for work and scheduled appointments
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times since first impressions matter
- Update and manage the assigned CRM daily
- Log at least three new prospects and ten phone calls per day in the CRM
- Proactively promote prospects through the service department, cold calls, referrals, and other channels when customers are not walking in
- Be prepared at shift start to review prior day results and set current day goals
- Obtain payoff information for all auto transactions
- Maintain a positive, honest, hard-working attitude with team spirit and a commitment to doing right by the customer
- Follow all sales department procedures for demonstrations and price negotiation
- Answer the sales department phone promptly and with a clear greeting including the dealership name
- Ensure important messages are delivered to the correct people as soon as possible
- Establish rapport with customers and capture their name and contact number during discussions of new or used car purchases
- Attend required training in the conference room at shift start (8:30 AM or 1:00 PM)
- Demonstrate knowledge of Washington state requirements for legal documentation of all deliveries, including out-of-state deliveries
- Avoid qualifying customers based on first impressions alone
- Greet every customer warmly and make them feel valued, creating a positive experience
- Record and share any promises made to customers with management
- A complete sale earns commissions and includes swift, accurate, neat paperwork, full payment collection, vehicle licensing, and delivery
- Commission splits are determined by the sales staff (50/50 option)
- Work as a collaborative team, with fair handling of sales and professional conduct
- Commissions on future orders apply when cars are delivered if the consultant remains employed; if quit or terminated before delivery, those sales belong to the company
- Oversee the delivery process from cleanup and servicing to proper documentation and a test drive before licensing and delivery
- Maintain a clean showroom and new car display area, with inventory organized by model and color for customer appeal
- Notify management of any inventory flaws in demonstrators or in-stock vehicles
- Follow up with customers by mail and phone within two days of delivery
- Work an open floor schedule to handle both phone and walk-in traffic
- Install license plates for customers enthusiastically to foster a welcoming experience
- Open new and used cars on the lot each morning and arrange the lot as needed
- Ensure the lot is secured every evening before leaving
- Track prospects and the customer base using the week-at-a-glance system; this data is company property and must be returned upon termination, with a potential $10,000 fine for noncompliance
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Maintain regular attendance and conduct oneself in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner
- Treat customers and the public with courtesy and non-discrimination, upholding company policies
