Automotive Sales Manager
Job Description
Kitsap Auto Outlet, an independent dealership in Port Orchard, WA, is seeking an on-site Automotive Sales Manager to lead from the showroom floor in a hands-on, end-to-end sales role. You will coach, close, and drive the sales process alongside the team, reporting to the GSM, with a clear path to 125 units per month and 1,000+ leads each month. The position offers a salary range of USD 145,000 - 185,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Own the sales process from the initial greeting to the final close.
- When a salesperson struggles with a customer, sit down with the customer, assess the situation, move the deal forward, and turn the moment into a teaching opportunity.
- Work deals alongside the team daily, maintain gross, manage the desk, and coach in real time.
- Operate as a player-coach who makes the team sharper and more capable.
Requirements
- Leadership experience at a franchise or independent dealership; both are welcome.
- Ability to hold gross without compromising the customer relationship.
- Comfortable sitting with customers when a deal requires it; this is part of the job.
- Develop salespeople through involvement, not just instruction.
- Own the end-to-end process and hold the team to the same standards you uphold.
- Be able to report your store’s units and gross, with an explanation of the results.
Benefits
- 401(k)
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
- Vision insurance
- Employee discount
- Paid time off
What You’re Walking Into
- Kitsap Auto Outlet has operated independently for 18 years, retailing around 100 vehicles per month with a clear path to 125, supported by a structured sales process, a trained team, and 1,000+ leads monthly.
- The infrastructure is in place; you will execute alongside the sales team and own the process from the showroom floor up.
- Current footprint is about 100 units per month, with a defined path to 125, supported by a robust lead flow and proven process.
What the Role Is
- A hands-on, floor-level leadership position that owns the sales process from greeting customers to closing deals.
- When a salesperson needs support, you engage directly with the customer, drive the deal forward, and extract a teachable moment.
- Your customer engagement is an integral part of leadership, not a last resort.
- You will work deals with your team daily, hold gross, manage the desk, and provide real-time coaching.
- The ideal is a player-coach who elevates everyone around them.
What We Need
- Leadership experience in either a franchise or independent setting.
- Ability to hold gross while preserving the customer relationship.
- Comfort sitting with customers when a deal requires it; this is part of the job.
- Active involvement in developing salespeople, not relying on instruction alone.
- End-to-end process ownership with the same standards applied to the team.
- Capacity to report on store performance in units and gross, with context for the numbers.
What Makes This Worth Leaving For
- A culture built on urgency, excellence, and collective success.
- Independent dealer environment with no manufacturer overlay or quarterly resets.
- Ownership that is accessible, decisive, and steps aside when you execute.
- A GSM in place who has grown stores from 120 to 300 units, providing real team leadership.
- A structured training program you inherit, not one you must build from scratch.
- Health insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
