Job Description

The Business Development Coordinator supports Explorer Pipeline's Business Development team in evaluating new projects, including expansions, acquisitions, divestitures, and other capital initiatives to grow the business. This onsite role is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with travel up to 25 percent or more depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with DOT and OSHA health, safety and environmental requirements and follows safety philosophy and procedures developed by the Company, including applicable environmental, health and safety rules, procedures, and accepted safe work practices, the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems, and the reporting of workplace hazards and injury or illness arising from workplace activities.
  • Conducts market research and analyzes general economic, business, and financial conditions to identify trends and support opportunity development.
  • Conducts research to identify potential candidates for acquisition.
  • Provides support in the due diligence process for evaluating a candidate's potential value.
  • Develops strong relationships with internal customers.
  • Assists business development by performing technical, financial, regulatory, and legal analysis of new opportunities.
  • Creates financial models for new projects, acquisitions, and divestitures to help determine financial impact and viability.
  • Provides analytic reports as requested for use in making key business decisions.
  • Extracts information from proposals, bid documents, and contracts for use in economic modeling.
  • Performs analysis to support the business development contract management process.
  • Assists the Business Development department with collaboration between other departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Provides support in other technical and administrative matters related to business development such as drafting reports and presentations, evaluation of pipeage agreements, joint tariffs, tariff programs, transportation agreements, and documentation of business development processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, accounting, finance, economics, or related field, or the equivalent in experience, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience within the pipeline or energy industry.
  • Ability to actively engage in safe behavior and follow the principles and methods related to pipeline and workplace safety as established by the Company.
  • Knowledge of emergency and safety procedures, policies, procedures, equipment operating parameters, and all applicable DOT, EPA, FERC, DHS, and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to utilize relevant hardware and software including Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate business conditions, potential acquisition candidates, and technical pipeline strategies and tariffs, and to recommend changes in operations.
  • Knowledge of financial and economic development models.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal departments and external customers and contractors to develop and evaluate projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to cooperate with supervisors, co-workers, and vendors.
  • Ability to follow corporate policies and the directions of supervisors and refrain from causing workplace disruption.
