Job Description
RLS Logistics, based in Mount Laurel, NJ, is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the Freight Brokerage sales team and drive sustainable growth. This onsite role emphasizes recruiting, coaching, and measuring the performance of Freight Brokerage Account Executives, while building strategic customer relationships and uncovering new business opportunities in a competitive freight market. The position blends people leadership with market insight to shape long-term sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and manage Freight Brokerage Account Executives (AEs)
- Monitor AE sales activity
- Provide ongoing feedback and performance reporting
- Participate in the development of long-term strategic sales goals
- Build key customer relationships
- Identify business opportunities
- Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 3+ years of sales experience in the freight brokerage industry
- License or Certification: Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) preferred
- Travel Requirements: Occasionally
- Minimum Physical Requirements: N/A
