Job Description

Join ForMotion Clinic in Boston as a Business Development Manager, onsite, focusing on expanding referrals for prosthetic patient services across the Boston and Rhode Island region. This role blends proactive relationship management with data-driven territory development to advance patient outcomes and clinic growth by partnering with physician offices and allied professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Build and expand relationships with surgeons across vascular, orthopedic, trauma, PM&R, podiatry, and engage with allied health professionals in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and physical therapy clinics.
  • Conduct proactive office visits to referral offices, cultivating connections with referral coordinators, case managers, MAs, nurses, and front desk staff, aiming for 5-7 in-person interactions daily.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of ForMotion Clinic’s clinical products and services to raise brand awareness and highlight differentiators in the market.
  • Communicate the end-to-end referral process to convey the clinic’s specialized patient experience and outcomes, supporting retention and growth.
  • Leverage corporate data tools to identify new referral sources and design market initiatives for assigned clinics.
  • Utilize CRM, practice management systems, referral tracking programs, and daily call logs to manage and grow territory referrals.
  • Document all meeting interactions promptly in the data management system.
  • Segment accounts by importance and opportunity to allocate time and resources effectively.
  • Coordinate educational in-services, lunches, and meetings with referral office staff to share product information, clinical developments, patient education, and resources.
  • Pursue outreach opportunities such as educational seminars, charity events, and community functions to promote patient services and raise brand visibility.
  • Use marketing collateral to educate referral sources about product benefits, pipeline advancements, services, and clinical staff support.
  • Collaborate with the clinic’s operations team to ensure seamless referral coordination and progress tracking, reinforcing positive patient outcomes and care standards.
  • Attend weekly meetings with clinical staff and regional leadership to review patient status and territory progress.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to operations about the needs of referral sources and patients.
  • Collect referral data by analyzing trends, market insights, target populations, competition, and opportunities using data systems.
  • Deliver quarterly and monthly reviews to leadership with analyses of referral growth, market opportunities, competitive landscape, growth areas, and quota attainment to guide planning.
  • Manage and submit weekly mileage and expenses in a timely manner, aligning with company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4-7 years of medical sales experience, ideally in wound care, vascular, orthopedic, or rehabilitative markets focused on referral-based services.
  • Proven success growing and managing a territory with quarterly and/or monthly quota achievement.
  • Preferred experience in orthotics & prosthetics or related healthcare fields.
  • Self-starter, performance-driven, and collaborative in a team environment to achieve territory goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and CRM systems; able to create and present PowerPoint materials with data and strategy.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and oral skills.
  • Ability to travel independently and manage a flexible schedule efficiently.
