Job Description
Outside Sales / Business Development Manager for Industrial & Heavy-Duty Markets at Hotstart Inc in Indianapolis, IN (hybrid), with a salary range of USD 79,015 - 95,158 per year and 40-60% travel across power generation, truck, machinery, and marine markets to drive new business and hit sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Drive new business and meet or exceed sales targets through proactive prospecting, face-to-face client meetings, and scheduled appointments.
- Assess opportunities for new product development and introduce them to current and prospective customers.
- Travel approximately 40-60% within the assigned market sector.
- Represent Hotstart at conferences and industry events, actively pursuing leads and opportunities.
- Seek new opportunities through networking, relationship-building, and rapid expansion of the customer base within the assigned markets.
- Elevate customer experience by identifying needs and presenting Hotstart solutions with confidence.
- Own projects tied to OEM spec system releases, ensuring successful execution and outcomes.
- Monitor and respond to competitor activity to stay ahead of the competition.
- Collaborate with Sales Directors, Customer Account Managers, Product Management, and Senior Sales Support to shape pricing and deliver competitive offers.
- Ensure visibility and accountability by coordinating activities via the Team Calendar.
- Work with Marketing to maximize impact and ROI at key industry trade shows.
- Collaborate with teammates on continuous improvement and process enhancements.
- Review and rank business opportunities on a weekly basis.
- Support Product Management with product lifecycle reviews and manage active part numbers.
- Stay current on customer announcements, technical developments, and industry trends.
- Monitor and guide Hotstart’s new product development projects and their relevance to the Power Generation market.
- Utilize the Business Activity Module (CRM) for tracking and reporting.
Requirements
- Proven success in sales and account management with strong negotiation abilities.
- Experience with thermal management products, systems, or related industries is preferred.
- An established network within Engine, Power Generation, Machinery, and Marine OEMs is highly desirable.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude and energy.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Power BI.
- Proficiency with INFOR, IFS, and MRP systems is preferable.
- 3+ years of customer account management or related sales experience.
