Job Description

StressCrete Group is looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Utility Transmission & Distribution sector. This onsite role in Atchison, Kansas centers on expanding the market for concrete utility pole solutions, building direct relationships with utilities and partners, and shaping technical specifications and pricing to meet utility needs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive market expansion and contribute to StressCrete Group’s long-term growth strategy within the Utility Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector.
  • Establish direct engagement with utilities, engineering consultants, EPC firms, and contractors, supporting the growth of concrete utility pole specifications across new and existing accounts.
  • Develop customer-specific technical specifications and utility standards as required.
  • Provide technical support to customers, Manufacturing Sales Representatives, and Territory Managers regarding StressCrete’s concrete utility pole products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure customer requirements are met and implement product modifications as needed.
  • Deliver market intelligence and competitive insights to shape pricing, positioning, and product strategy for the utility pole market.
  • Conduct strategic pricing analysis to assist Territory Managers when quoting concrete utility pole opportunities.
  • Influence the hiring of new sales agents and advise on regional manufacturer sales representative appointments.
  • Support specification development, utility approvals, and competitive bids.
  • Work with Growth Team leadership to increase SCGRP market share within the utility T&D market.
  • Partner with Marketing and Territory Managers to develop targeted campaigns and detailed proposals for concrete utility pole solutions.
  • Represent StressCrete Group at national and regional utility, transmission, and distribution conferences.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of structural requirements, loading criteria, and design considerations for utility pole structures.
  • Undertake additional assignments as required by the needs of the operational unit or company.
  • Develop and deliver presentations on StressCrete’s concrete utility pole solutions to current and prospective customers, consultants, utilities, and local representation.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business, technical, or sales-related fields.
  • Three to five years of sales experience is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle from identifying prospects to qualifying, developing, and closing new accounts.
  • Experience with Salesforce is advantageous.
  • Ability to build and nurture lasting relationships.
  • Curiosity and a drive to learn, grow, and master the technical specifications of the product line.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trends.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and self-direction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and customer service.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel across North America up to 50% of the time.
