Business Development Representative
Job Description
Harbor Oaks Hospital is seeking a Business Development Representative to grow and retain referral relationships that support admissions.
Responsibilities
- Expand and retain referral sources by developing physician and non-physician referral partnerships aligned with management-defined lines of service
- Build strong relationships with key referral sources across physician offices and non-physician referral teams
- Work closely with discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians, management, and education staff to support referral generation
- Identify partnership and growth opportunities
- Manage referral leads and support an efficient admissions process for clients
- Coordinate with the clinical assessment team to align referrals for admission based on facility services
- Increase referral activity within facilities by engaging physician, social worker, and discharge planner stakeholders
- Educate patients, families, community, and referral sources on facility programs, services, and amenities
- Coordinate completion of the admission process and ensure appropriate resources are obtained
- Schedule meetings and develop referral contacts through frequent travel within the assigned territory
- Document referral sources in the appropriate contact management system
- Maintain existing referral relationships while pursuing new referral sources
- Develop events and educational forums to showcase programs and identify potential referral sources
- Use analytic tools, including Salesforce, to plan, track, and evaluate activity to optimize results
- Represent the facility in professional forums and communicate the facility mission during outreach interactions
- Create outreach initiatives to regularly communicate the facility mission via phone, email, e-blast, written notes, events, networking, and other professional activities
- Provide the facility or receiving team with appropriate information to facilitate admission when necessary
- Complete additional outreach actions to ensure ongoing communication with top referral sources using the same channels
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related health or social services field preferred
- Two (2) or more years of experience in sales and/or marketing required
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday
Compensation
- $55,000 - $70,000 salary per year (based on experience)
- Exempt position
Travel / Vehicle
- Remainder of week requires driving your own personal vehicle within the assigned territory
