Director of Business Development Home Health/Hospice
Job Description
The Director of Business Development at Crossroads Home Health and Hospice leads sales, marketing, and provider relations initiatives in the Bay Area, based onsite in Solano County, CA, with travel and field-marketing responsibilities to drive patient admissions.
Overview
This executive role oversees the organization’s sales, marketing, public relations, community outreach, and provider education efforts, with the aim of expanding the utilization of Crossroads services. The position works collaboratively with the Executive Director to align regional sales and marketing programs and to implement local plans, while ensuring high levels of customer service in partnership with operational and clinical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead all sales, marketing, and branding initiatives.
- Develop and direct programs for sales, marketing, public relations, community engagement, and provider education to grow utilization of Crossroads services.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to align regional efforts and implement local sales and marketing plans.
- Coordinate with operational and clinical leadership to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Recruit, train, mentor, coach, manage, and discipline the sales team.
- Travel 80 to 90 percent of the workday.
- Work with sales team members to set goals and strategies, with frequent field oversight for training and coaching as required.
- Own responsibility for and oversee the sales team's goals within defined territories.
- Oversee hiring and all activities related to maintaining a high functioning sales team.
- Act as a field marketer when needed to support organizational and marketing goals, including sales calls to hospitals, nursing facilities, and physician offices, and presenting to community and professional groups.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with referral partners, vendors, and other community organizations and agencies.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record per policy.
- Require experience as a marketing representative (5 years).
- Demonstrate a successful track record in leadership, management, or direct sales and marketing, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Minimum 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in Home Health and Hospice.
- Bachelor’s degree in related fields preferred.
- Physician relations, case management, managed care, and knowledge of the local healthcare market preferred.
- Working knowledge of hospice and/or home care business models.
- Working knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations, including HIPAA, as they relate to responsibilities.
- Understanding of hospice and home care admission criteria.
- Proficiency with Google Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Uphold and demonstrate the company culture and standards.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively.
- Strong coordination, analytical, observational, decision-making, and deadline-oriented capabilities.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
