Job Description

The Director of Sales Development (West Region) will design, implement, and oversee training programs that strengthen Account Executive performance and support business growth. This is a remote role with a significant on-the-road component, including ride-alongs and branch support across the West markets.

Role Overview

In this position, you will lead sales training initiatives, mentor and coach Account Executives, and use technology to scale, track, and improve training outcomes. Travel is a core part of the role, with 50–60% expected to support field training, learning in action, and consistent execution across branches nationwide, with a strong focus on the West region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver sales training programs for Account Executives through workshops, on-the-job learning, and frequent field ride-alongs.
  • Collaborate with leadership across HR, Sales, and Executive teams to align training content with company goals.
  • Mentor and coach Account Executives to improve sales strategies, customer engagement, and overall performance.
  • Use technology to scale training and refine delivery while traveling extensively to support branches nationwide.
  • Create training tools, resources, and evaluation methods that support consistent sales growth.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience (required).
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a training role focused on developing others in a business or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of flooring installation and products required.
  • Strong strategic-thinking skills with the ability to collaborate on best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with credibility across all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively for training.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and an entrepreneurial, positive mindset.
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools, with willingness to stay current on new approaches.

Travel Expectations

This role requires extensive travel (50–60%). You will spend much of your time on the road, including riding with Account Executives, supporting branches, and concentrating heavily on West markets.
