Responsibilities
- Lead worldwide growth of the geochemistry practice by expanding into new regions, introducing service innovations, optimizing pricing, and pursuing strategic market opportunities.
- Identify emerging market trends, technologies, and commercial opportunities to sustain business growth.
- Track regional performance and provide insights to maximize growth and profitability.
- Head global Key Account Management activities for strategic clients and support regional KAM programs.
- Direct the development, negotiation, and review of major proposals, contracts, and RFPs.
- Build and nurture strong client relationships to win strategic business opportunities.
- Enhance regional commercial capabilities through training, tools, and sharing best practices.
- Ensure consistency across business development, sales, KAM, and client services activities.
- Create standards and guidance to elevate client experience and service delivery globally.
- Lead global marketing initiatives and represent SGS at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Champion ongoing improvements to commercial and client-facing systems, including Salesforce and MyLab.
- Support strategic investments, including major Capex projects and M&A evaluations.
- Collaborate across SGS business lines to develop integrated, value-added client solutions.
- Facilitate the sharing of technical, commercial, and operational expertise across the global network.
- Promote a strong Health, Safety & Environment culture and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Uphold SGS Code of Integrity, Professional Conduct, and safety standards in all activities.
Requirements
- A scientific university degree in Analytical Chemistry, Geochemistry, or a related field.
- Proven experience within a minerals laboratory, geochemistry, or mining services environment.
- Deep knowledge of the mining and minerals industry and its commercial drivers.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, strategic growth, key account management, and client engagement.
- Fluent in English.
- Additional language skills, particularly in French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Russian, are advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering business growth and creating new opportunities.
- Excellent leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills within a global, matrixed environment.
- Proven ability to prepare, evaluate, and work with Capex models, business cases, and financial forecasts.
- Customer-focused, innovative, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of MS Project and Oracle applications is beneficial.
